Quick summary that doesn’t do justice to recent experiences

Sorry to have laxed in the ol’ writing department. We did leave Miami, but not before eating some GREAT Cuban food. Post Miami we stopped in the Tampa Bay area. We stayed with friends we met when we lived in Albequerque. I love grandparent-like people. They made it their mission to spoil us. They pretty much succeeded.

Day one they took us to their neighbor’s pool. It was an outdoor pool, but bugless because it was screened in. They also opened up their very nice pool table, they brought out darts, a pet bird, everything.

The whole time food was amazing and abundant. We went to a beach on the Gulf. It is different. There aren’t any waves, but it’s a whole lot more than a lake. We also went to Tarpon Springs. There we watched a video about natural sponge harvesting. It was pretty cool.

Moving right along because I have a lot of ground to cover and I don’t feel like sitting here too long. The drive up from Florida was overly eventful. Our radiator decided to get rather clogged. This meant we couldn’t drive over 60mph and we had to stop and add coolant periodically. The trailer didn’t help anything.

We decided to drive through the night and stop over at our house to see if our mechanic could do anything for it. Not much luck (in part due to the short time frame we were working with).

The time spent working on the car was time not at our next performance location. We arrived with only about an hour and a half till concert time, with dinner to eat, instruments to unload (conveniently packed behind all our luggage), and sound check to run.

Nonetheless things went pretty well. A more thorough sound check would have been great.

In the evening after the concert we (Nathanael, Asher, and I, and Erin and Artie Black) (Parents were asleep and Gabe, Judah, Seth, and Baruch were at a different house) watched the old 12 angry men with Henry Fonda. Impressively entertaining for a movie that is basically a bunch of guys arguing in a single room.

This morning we got our radiator replaced. A necessary measure, good to have done, but rather entertaining considering that the two side doors are totally caved in leaving the car in a totaled state.

We are now in Pittsburgh staying with a family that has nine kids. It’s a big house, a big crowd. There are scooters racing around on the first floors hard wood floors. They have a large kitchen with two dining tables and a large dining room with another two tables. It is pretty sweet.

So one reason I have not sent out more emails and one reason I’m cruising through this one is because I’ve been spending my computer time working on a website I’m building. So far there isn’t much to see, so don’t try.
Peace

Micah

  1. Hello Micah!
I just saw you perform with your wonderful family the other night at Pastor Duffy’s church in Austintown, Ohio. I am the same age as you and just wanted to let you know how refreshing it is to know that there are still “good” guys out there. (I was the girl playing the keyboard, I’m sorry if you don’t remember! lol) I start to wonder sometimes if there are any values left in the hearts of the college-guys. But hearing about your values really moved my heart and I felt I needed to tell you about it. To be honest, I really felt God laying it on my heart to get in touch with you…I am always up for meeting and getting to know new friends. I hope to hear from you soon and your family is in my prayers as you travel.
    God Bless,
    Sarah Hennessey
