Loy Krathong

I went out for Loy Krathong tonight. Like last year, I enjoyed seeing people sending flaming balloons of tissue paper into the air. I also enjoyed the hour I spent with three older gentlemen who asked me to sit down. The one guy had driven a supply truck in Cambodia for the UN during Khmer Rouge days. For seven years he supplied UN forces with food all over Cambodia. He saw a lot of terrifying things. Its good to be reminded sometimes how deep the life stories of people all around me run.
