Real Job

So, I surprised myself. Not only did I accept an Engineering position, I accepted an Engineering position in Waynesboro. Lest you all think I have lost my sense of adventure, or have caved to other pressures, this decision was made that I might more fully embrace adventures when they come in the future. After about nine months (depending on how carefully I guard my money) I will be debt free. I plan not to own a car, I plan to walk to work and live at home. Without the responsibility of debt I will be able to skip off and do whatever, I could even live without house or job on the streets of some city for a time. (Yes, though perhaps irresponsible, this is rather appealing.)

Further, I am not altogether sacrificing adventure in the here and now. The other day, walking to the post office, I was impressed with the increasing number of Spanish speaking establishments in town. I think right here in Waynesboro I will be able to practice Spanish and engage in cross cultural communication.

Congratulations on the job acceptance. I was browsing and came across your older entries about the Allegheny internship. What was that for? It sounded like a very interesting and worthwhile experience. Do you know the policies on Roxbury and just coming to sessions and services without staying overnight? I’d really like to hear Doug Miller speak about Malawi on missions day.
Also, you would most likely be entertained to know that it took me until this past week to finally realize that Xodarap is paradox spelled backwards.
This proves that I am indeed, a doofhead.

Habla mijo! Habla habla! ๐Ÿ™‚ Que bueno. Por mas que no sea super aventuroso lo que has decidido hacer, parece bien, bien planeado, bien pensado, logico, y estar libre de la deuda, como puedes negar esa posibilidad?! ๐Ÿ™‚

Bueno chico. Es bien bonito este website. ๐Ÿ™‚ Bien hecho.

I thought to myself, I will check Micah’s blog while I am wasting time on the computer, maybe he has updated. And not only have you updated, but you got yourself a JOB. I am quite surprised considering the options you were throwing around, but I see the logic in your plan. Best wishes.
