I’m a fan.

I’m really tempted to leave it at that. Trying to express the beauty of the lake, the awe inspiring boulders, and the valleys devoid of roads and houses is futile.

We had some fun moments of blazing our own trail, trying to find a trail that had temporarily fizzled out. This included a rather intense scramble up some pretty steep rocks.

We wrapped things up with ice cream, just to seal the deal.

So I did it again. I was looking at something pretty while running, and I rolled my ankle. This time it was a very blue bird. This time, thankfully, the ankle isn’t hurt too bad.

It feels good to see the words “paid in full” on student loan letterhead. It is good to be debt free.

Well, today was the first full day of the second program I’m attending out here in Colorado. What a shift! I don’t think I would be so aware of it if it was not in the same classroom at the same time as PILAT.

PILAT was right up my alley: academic, technical, cognitive, drilled. This SPLICE thing I think is going to be good for me, but not because it is right up my alley. If I can get past all the feelly activities and feelly language, I will probably benefit from learning to to get in touch with, share, and express my own feelings as well as learning to deal with the feelings of others.

The running continues to be good. Ice cream, no surprise, is good. Ice cream with a group of cool people, really good.

Yesterday afternoon I rented a car up north of Colorado Springs and drove down to Los Alamos NM to visit my Grandpa. For the record, the Rockies are magnificent.

The last twenty-four hours have contained some truly good times with Grandpa. I think the fact that I am leaving for Thailand adds extra value to this time. We went on an early morning walk, had a waffle breakfast, listened to music, worked on converting tapes to CD, and saw the progress on the church building project.

God is good.
