Hypothetical Homosexual

So here’s a thought I had. I welcome any thoughtful comments. Let’s say that God has created us with a need for physical interaction with one another. Let’s say that we need touch in our lives. Let’s say a young man becomes aware of this need. Let’s say he has non-sexual desires to hug other guys and be hugged by them. Let’s say he wants support and presence confirmed by touch. Remember he does not approach or receive this touch in a sexual manner. What would happen if every time he sought out this affirmation through touch those around him told such interaction was “gay”? What if he worked to avoid such displays of (non sexual) affection only to more greatly realize his need for them. Could he reach the point where he becomes so aware of his need for this touch and so convinced by those around him that such touch is homosexual that he would conclude that since he himself needs that touch and that touch is homosexual that he is indeed is homosexual?

Hike and Enchiladas

Life doesn’t get much better. All my brothers at home. Beautiful weather. Beautiful trail. Great dinner.

While hiking on the Appalachian Trail we stumbled upon some ruins that some hunters were able to tell us are the Old Blue Mountain House. It was pretty cool. There is something exciting about discovering ruins.

For dinner we made enchiladas—real enchiladas. We are New Mexican (don’t let our residence in PA fool you). None of this PA flour tortilla enchiladas stuff. Corn. None of this plain tomato sauce on top. We had sauce with chili power, unsweetened chocolate, etc. Amazing!

Weekend: Good and Full

This weekend I led worship for a father-son retreat up at Camp Joy El. The first night started a little rough. My amp was making funny noises so I unplugged and started playing louder. Because I was playing louder I broke a string. Then to top it off, the projector died. After that though the time at Joy El went well.

Saturday, between the morning and evening sessions at Joy El I went down to cheer for Rod in the JFK 50 miler. I ended up running the last 20% of it with him. I don’t recommend 12 miles if you haven’t run in a few weeks. However, if you should run 12 miles with little recent running make sure you do it at 50 mile (11 min) pace.

I left Joy El to come back to Waynesboro to ride up with the quiz team to a demo quiz. It would seem the Allegheny conference will now have at least one new team!

Summary: Great weekend but full enough that Monday morning is a little difficult.

Peace

Sometimes sitting in an empty house playing guitar and singing can be the best.
